Advanced Dual Language Store Setup Question
by eddieb (Posted Wed, 27 Jul 2011 12:15:31 GMT)
Hello
This is my first post to this board. I came with hopes that the community here is more helpful than the regular magento forum…
I have a client that needs to have two different stores, in two different languages, each using different extensions for payment processors and shipping company/pricing.
We currently have the following setup:
WEBSITE A>STORE COUNTRY1>STOREVIEW LANGUAGE1
WEBSITE A>STORE COUNTRY2>STOREVIEW LANGUAGE2
We have learned, after a lot of research, that some of the payment processing extensions we need can only be enabled/disabled per WEBSITE (cannot be done at store or storeview level. they cant even be enabled/disabled via Configuration>Advanced>Advanced – this in itself could be a topic post: why arent we be able to disable them here?)
So we are looking into changing the setup to use two websites:
WEBSITE A>STORE COUNTRY1>STOREVIEW LANGUAGE1
WEBSITE B>STORE COUNTRY2>STOREVIEW LANGUAGE2
Moving the products from STORE COUNTRY2>STOREVIEW LANGUAGE2 to WEBSITE B is not a a problem. BUT the content pages from STOREVIEW LANGUAGE2 do not show up anymore when this STOREVIEW is placed under the newly created website: we get a 404.
What am I doing wrong? HOW would I move the content from one website to another?
Thank you.
