Can’t upload product images to Magento 1.3.2.4

I am having trouble uploading products images to Magento 1.3.2.4, this function was working fine when i hosted it in on XAMPP.

I have changed all the permissions as instructed so I don’t know where I am going wrong.

When uploading an image it gets to 100 % then the box turns red and a weird pop-up box appears after the upload fails.

Any help would be much appreciated i am very new to the Magento scene.
