Can’t restore quote/session/order after 3D Secure postback

A few reasons really,
I was working freelance last year, I needed something to fill the gaps when I wasn’t busy, so I decided on writing an ecommerce solution. At the time I was creating a store for an associate of mine and none of the available software was really suitable without running a stack of plugins. He also has 3rd party stock control, finance management, courier/delivery and CRM software that needed linking up via their respective APIs, none of the carts we tested had support for all 3.
I don’t really like working with other people’s code (one reason I have such an issue with Magento..!), as nothing is guaranteed compatible between versions and you are relying on other people to fix problems when they occur.I felt it would be easier to just write something that does precisely what we wanted. It also meant that I could maintain it easily as I’d know of every change and consequence.
It’s not quite finished yet, but in return for making my own, it takes up a fraction of the disk space, it’s well documented, it fits inside a small memory footprint and is a piece of cake to style and extend. It also hooks up with all the required services and payment gateways.
Having said all that, I wouldn’t do it again as it takes far too long! I hadn’t seen OpenCart before, either. It looks very nice.
