I found a better way to explain what I am trying to do in another post

“Wondering how you got on with this as I’m also looking for something like this – but for the drop down boxes to redirect the user to the category page.

What I mean is –
1. The first drop down box gives a list of the main categories
2. The second box is populated with the sub categories of the first boxes choice
3. The third box lists those sub sub categories that relate to the category chosen in the second box

When the browser chooses the category in the third box – they are redirected to this category page.
Example http://javascript.about.com/library/bl3drop.htm

This would be a great for sites that have loads of categories nested in this type of structure.
