Thanks Mark, I’m sure I’ll get there eventually, it just seems so much harder now!

This was the post that made me hit the roof http://www.magentocommerce.com/boards/viewthread/51990/ As you can see, the coding and other useful info are no longer there.

As a picture framer, dynamic pricing by x & y measurements would have made my life so much easier, as I could have taken orders for custom sized frames rather than a list of standard sized ones. This would save me a lot of time and effort with multiples (100′s) of simple products… I have 200+ standard frame sizes(imperial metric & paper sizes), 40+ different mouldings which can be 22 colours, with 3 different glazing/backing options. That’s a lot of work, doing it with imported csv files, and prone to all sorts of disasters. With Dynamic pricing I could just do it for one product with each moulding.

I could understand if they banned the user for some sort of serious infraction, but to delete all the posts as well, especially considering how prolific and helpful he was (1000 posts in 4 months, someone said) is complete madness! Its made the site almost useless, as you don’t know if the answer you are searching for is going to be there. Its really frustrating seeing something like the post above and knowing that the answer was there once….
