It sort of was the spaces causing the issue. By having the spaces I also had to put the URL inside ” “.

Example – redirect 301 “/mall/departmentpage.cfm/Mosey/_263528/1/Solid Oak Ranges“ http://www.moseyonline.co.uk/furniture- … iture.html

Then it works!
