Magento Integration with POS

The cheapest solution is probably to install one of the POS extensions for Magento so that you key your shop orders directly into the magento admin.

Do you use barcodes for your products?

If so you can store the barcode numbers for your products and then use a handheld scanner to speed up the process of finding products.

Otherwise you are into running a separate POS system alongside your store and trying to keep them in synch, though at the moment I am not aware of a good cost effective option here (I have looked into this quite a lot).
