XML catalog

Thanks,
I already used the webservice API elsewhere, and it could also be usable here. But I consider it more advanced than necessary.
I would prefer it if I could make a simple web request with a browser, or wget or similar and just pull a single simple XML document that contains all of my categories and products as a user would see them (with prices, taxes, image URLs, and everything).
So in essence I am looking for
1) A way to get a reference to the magento runtime from a stand-alone PHP page.
2) When I have this reference I think I can use the PHP docs at http://docs.magentocommerce.com/ to build my page.
I hope that I’m making sense here ![]()
Thanks,
-dennis
