Magento. Can’t add product cause server error

After upgrading my Magento installation I can’t add new products. In Safari I see only blank white page, in Chrome I see this:

Server error
The website encountered an error while retrieving https://xxxxxx.com/index.php/admin/catalog_product/save/back/edit/tab/product_info_tabs_group_5/set/4/type/simple/key/139676a9adc8a3fa644433bf40d73756/. It may be down for maintenance or configured incorrectly.
Here are some suggestions:
Reload this webpage later.
HTTP Error 500 (Internal Server Error): An unexpected condition was encountered while the server was attempting to fulfill the request.

I tried to restore permissions, clear all possible caches, reinstall all modules. Don’t know what to check else. All error logs are empty – server error log and magento logs as well.
Please advice how I can fix this.
